This year’s Harvey Awards Hall of Fame inductees include “Mutts” creator and cartoonist Patrick McDonnell, who was honored Friday night at the Harvey Awards ceremony at New York Comic Con. “I’ve loved comics all my life,” McDonnell said in a statement. “I am honored and thrilled to be inducted into the Hall of Fame named after Harvey Kurtzman, one of the true masters of our unique art form. DC kicked off day two of New York Comic Con with a Gotham City panel discussion about all things Batman. Moderated by DC Group Editor Rob Levin, the panel discussion began with the announcement of “Sirens: Love Hurts,” a four-issue DC Black Label miniseries by writer Tini Howard and artist Babs Tarr coming this February. Peacemaker concluded its second (and possibly final…?) season last night, featuring the DC Universe’s first appearance of Checkmate, the spy-cum-superhero organization from the comics. Checkmate co-creator Paul Kupperberg is apparently a fan of Peacemaker. Because he reacted in near real time on Facebook, sharing a screenshot from the show with the caption, “Wait!
