TMNT #13 teases the arrival of a mysterious new enemy, the Ujigami!

Ahead of Thanksgiving weekend, IDW Publishing has released a preview of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #13. This marks the start of a new series of books by the creative team of writer Gene Luen Yang and artist Freddie E. Williams III.

It’s safe to say that IDW is overhyping this issue. TMNT #13 has already received over 100,000 orders. Part of the hype is the introduction of a new enemy named Ujigami. Much is shrouded in mystery regarding this new villain. However, given the recent resurrection of the Turtles’ teacher Master Splinter, I can’t help but wonder if Ujigami is actually Splinter in disguise. In any case, it is expected that Splinter’s return will be handled by a new creative team.

Check out a preview of TMNT #13 below, which hits comic shops on December 10, 2025.

After the best-selling and critically acclaimed work by writer Jason Aaron and artist Juan Ferreria (whose finale is unmissable in issue 12 this October), the high quality, heartfelt and exciting storytelling that fans deserve continues to be brought to life by Eisner Award-winning author Gene Luen Yang (Shang-Chi). , Superman Smash the Klan, Avatar: The Last Airbender, American-born Chinese) and blockbuster artist Freddie E. Williams II (Batman/TMNT, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Godzilla vs. the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers).

This all-new story arc, starting in December with TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #13, will provide fans with a fresh jump as the heroes of Half-Shell reunite and hope for the city’s future, but dark, personal danger lurks in the shadows as a deadly new assassin, Ujigami, emerges.

Additionally, to celebrate this new era with TMNT #13 comes a special collector’s blind bag variant featuring amazing variant covers from incredible creators like Daniel Warren Johnson, David Nakayama, and Clayton Crane.
