There was the Wizard of Oz News in the past few weeks, so if it was originally published in 1900, I think it was the first anniversary of the first anniversary of the 1st anniversary of the 1939 Anniversary of the 125th anniversary of the novel’s publication. Starring Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Billy Burke, Bert Lar, Jack Haley, Ray Bolger and Margaret Hamilton.

Today, Dynamite Entertainment and Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products have announced the adaptation of the full graphic novel of The Wizard of Oz by superstar writer and artist Thule. boom! , black masks, etc. Lee’s all-age adaptation of the 1939 film arrives in September 2025.

“I haven’t reinvented the wheel, but I’m adding my interpretation to the history of this legendary story,” Lee said. “I was engrossed in more pages and allowed to spend time on certain scenes, so I used comics mediums. I really wanted to shed light on the relationship and feelings of Dorothy and her friends.”

Here is the official PR for Dynamite:

The Wizard of Oz tells the story of a young Kansas girl who dreams of a better world “somewhere in the rainbow.” As Dorothy thrusts into the eyes of a tornado and lands in the fantasy world of Oz, she soon finds herself in the mountains of trouble with the three unfortunate misfits, an evil witch on her heels, and a way to get home. The Wizard of Oz: The Phily Film Adaptation Graphic Novel is a lasting story and message of friendship, intelligence, heart and courage.

Thuley, who brought this Peerless epic to the graphic novel page of her vision, was granted access to the open “Vault,” and worked from the original film scripts by Noel Langley, Florence Ryerson and Edgar Allan Wolf. This means that longtime fans of the story and film can see all their favorite moments, but the 128 gorgeous, full-color pages may contain elements that are less familiar to you.
