The Spider-Man ’94 comic series picks up places omitted by the 90s anime series

After the successful revival of X-Men ’97, rumors have been circulating that the same approach will be taken in the ’90s Spider-Man: Animated Series. Though it’s not an animated series announced on today’s IGN, fans can revisit the Spider-Man: The Animated series on Spider-Man ’94.

Spider-Man: As TAS knows well, the fifth and final season ended with the honorable hero’s promise to reunite with Mary Jane Watson. As the proverb says, good things come to those waiting for them. Additionally, according to a press release, the limited series will introduce Kaine and Morlun characters to Spider-Man: Tas Universe.

Premiered in 1994 and running for five seasons, the Spider-Man: The Animated series is considered to be an adaptation of the most popular animated comic book of all time. The hit series ended with Spider-Man who enters the multiverse to save Mary Jane. Now, almost 30 years later, this cliffhanger will be officially resolved as the Spider-Man ’94 Comic Book series continues its storytelling set after a dramatic final episode. Saga also presents versions of comic book characters from the animated universe that did not appear in the original series.

After searching all the way to the edge of the multiverse, Peter Parker (the amazing, magnificent, radioactive webhead himself) – aka Spider-Man, returns to the city of New York City with the beloved Mary Jane Watson! But what is this? One of these villains is different from the others. This universe debut witnesses Morlan and Kane, the biggest villains of Spider-Man in the comics, not just one! Split the action figures and return to the biggest era of animated superhero television in history and post in front of the TV! For your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, you are never going to move forward, expecting a twist!

The original Spider-Man: TAS producer John Semper was not shy about his series with the “Spider-Verse” concept long before comics and films. Semper is not involved in this comic series, but writer Dematteis wanted to celebrate the original series. As he said, Igni said:

“The Spider-Man Animated Series of the 1990s became a beloved part of Spidey lore. It was an introduction to Peter Parker and his generation of universes – and I’m pleased to be back in that universe. We’re treating this as the next season of the show.

The first issue, which arrived on September 3rd, will feature a main cover by Nick Bradshaw and a variant cover by Lonelim and John Tyler Christopher.
