Literally prepare to turn your world upside down. Clover Press collaborates with the field guide for Flippitoons’ award-winning creative director Jim Fletcher: Fartastical Faces. He is known for his groundbreaking work with DC Direct. Here we helped create fan-favorite collectibles like DC Bombshells and Batman Black and White, but Fletcher unveils a brand new universe of distinctive and playful creatures.

So, what is a flippitoon? As Fletcher says, they are the strange beings he stumbles during his sketches, creatures that reveal a completely different face when he turns over. Inspired by this strange discovery, Fletcher created an entire field of “voluntary studies,” a science that studies the strange things (and undoubtedly doubtful). Cataloging over 100 catalogs of these dual-sided existence, this book serves as the first official guide to Fletcher’s Flipverse.

Inside, readers find illustrations of characters combined with clever, rhyming descriptions that are easy to read from all directions. The fun doesn’t stop on the page. Fletcher and his team designed a “flippimation” of collective trading cards and short animations for each creature.

“The gym’s brain works at a different level,” joked Hank Canaltz, Clover’s publisher. “He created the iconic DC Collectibles, but now he’s back with more odd things.

Updates to Flippitoons and Sneak Peeks are available across Clover Press’ social media channels. Whether you raise it to the right or read it upside down, this strange thing promises to be a unique visual trip to the fun and weird thing.
