Courtesy of Dark Horse Comics, the publisher can exclusively reveal that Stimulus will be released. This is a collection of 12 interconnected science fiction novels, all written by Daniel Friedman (Birdsong, Kali). Described as an action-packed “exploration of loyalty, control, and worth,” the book features art by Robert Zamelin, Tom Coker, Firiya Bratukhin (Nature’s Labyrinth), Amilcar Pinna (Galactic), Dilraj Mann (Dalustron Monsters), Lorenzo Nuti (Dragonero/Conan), Ariana Faricella (University Apocalypse), and Gavin. Dias (Penthouse Comics), Debbie Tsoi (Split Fiction), Stefano Realdini (Captain Gaia), Dan Morison (HELL-BENT), and Henrik Sahlstrom (Mirror’s Edge: Exordium).

A briefcase filled with bloody cash. A mind reader passionate about crime. A deviant soldier became a killer. Earth’s homunculus. crystal women. Humans are made of stars. An abnormal frog person. Magician succubus. Advanced space force fighter pilot. Vampires taking revenge. Built by a sentimental AI with emotions. Foreign voyeur. A demigod descendant of lovelorn angels. Cyber-enhanced mercenary thief. race of death. An ancient prophecy that went unfulfilled. Lost courage. Stolen principles. And the paranormal plant “Seafarer” that connects them.

Friedman said, “‘Stimulus’ is a collection of pure passion and experimentation that I’ve been collecting for almost a decade, largely because of the purpose of collaborating with some of the world’s best illustrators. I’m thrilled that readers can finally get their hands on it.” Friedman, a writer, film editor, director and former colorist from Los Angeles, has released all of his comics through Dark Horse since 2020’s Raiders (produced with Birdsong artist CROM). He previously worked with Summelin on Cali and Tom Coker on the Image series Undying Love.

Stimulus is a 184-page paperback that retails for $22.99 and is available for pre-order now at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or your local bookstore/comic shop. It will be available in bookstores on April 28, 2026, and in comic shops the next day. Meanwhile, Friedman’s next book, The Witcher: Blood Stone #1 (of four volumes), will be released by Dark Horse on January 28th.
