Snow Monkey is a new Red 5 comic by author Jason Shaw and artist Heubert Khan Michael. This is a throwback to past martial arts comics following teenager Jennifer Gatelyn, who wears an ancient turmeric helmet and acquires the experience and abilities of those who wear it. As a Snow Monkey, she fights her father, the crime master known as her father, Teacher.

The show will be signed Wednesday, July 23rd between 4pm and 6pm, with Snow Monkey Day consisting of a Q&A, another signature and a presentation by Shaw, but will last from 2pm to 6pm on Thursday, July 24th.

“We are extremely excited to praise ‘Snow Monkey’. This brings a unique and respectful portrayal of comic book culture and martial arts to the masses,” says Michael Matsuda, founder and chairman of the Martial Arts History Museum.

“We are very pleased to see Jennifer Gatelyn’s adventures have had such a rapid impact in paying tribute to the Martial Arts History Museum,” says Jason Shaw, author and creator of “Snow Monkey.” “It was an eight-year journey to make this book a reality, but this honor by the museum further proves it’s worth the wait. I’m not happy, I can’t wait to interact with the martial arts and comic book community and let more people know “Snow Monkey”! ”

A high school teacher when he wasn’t writing manga, Shaw created a Snow Monkey that not only introduces martial arts mayhem, but also helps to showcase overcoming anxiety and depression. “Over the years I have observed an increasing number of students suffering from mental illness,” Shaw said. “I created the Snow Monkey. Snow Monkey doesn’t understand all angles, but is learning to face her fears and find her strength as a reflection of those students.”

The Martial Arts History Museum is located at 201 N. Brand Blvd, Suite B100 in Glendale, California.
