Private detective Jean Westron is asked to help investigate the girl’s disappearance. Haunted by a similar incident as a teenager, Westron is in a race against time to avoid the tragedy that occurred when he was 15 years old.
Following last year’s opening chapter, things take a very dark and disturbing turn in this second issue of Westron. To be fair, the first issue wasn’t all sunshine and roses, but things get pretty grim, especially as it accelerates towards the climax, with more and more harsh and graphic reveals leading up to the cliffhanger.
A variation on the art style from the first issue is also employed here, which occurs when the story switches between Westron’s past and present. They are also very effective. The current calm, naturalistic style will be replaced by a more satirical style of flashbacks with heightened bright colors.
Though tightly written, the story makes good use of Euro-noir style and Polish folklore, making it very engaging. However, without intending to venture into spoiler territory, the dark subject matter, especially the more realistic elements, may be a little uncomfortable and unsettling for readers of a more sensitive disposition. Please be careful. Westron is not a manga for the faint of heart.
The Kickstarter campaign for Westron #2 will launch on June 1, 2026, and in addition to pledging to purchase the first issue, you can also get the second issue. You can sign up to receive notifications of campaign launches here.
Hello! I’m Jason. I write articles for midlifegamergeek.com every day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human-generated content (that’s never been plagiarized or copied through the efforts of other writers), please help us keep this site running by making a donation.
Not only do I not earn any money from my writing here (though I do earn a small commission from affiliate links posted on my page, but as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases from these links), my work sometimes seems to be stolen and repurposed by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure, of course, but we really appreciate any support you can provide. You can easily support us through Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or the PayPal link.
Thank you very much for your donation. I would also like to thank you for taking the time to read my article. Remember: This entire article was written by Jason Brown and published on midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

All donations are gratefully received and will not only help me keep the lights on here, but will also help keep my writing dream alive. However, please understand that there is no pressure. I hope you enjoy reading my article.
