This Free Comic Book Day page from Udon includes two stories. It’s pretty standard for a Street Fighter comic, but it’s meant as a taster to draw in new readers, and the basic story makes a lot of sense.
The first story in particular, “Lost in Thought,” takes us on a fast-paced, action-packed tour of Ryu’s doubtful mind during his meditation. There’s nothing particularly new for longtime Street Fighter readers, but it’s a nice jump for upcoming fans, and does a great job of showcasing Udon’s admittedly gorgeous artwork.
Next up is a fun crime story starring Juri and C.Viper, with a nice twist or two along the way. Again, this is a great demonstration of Udon’s production values and impeccable art, with a light and fun script to boot.
As anyone who knows me knows, I love Street Fighter comics, and this Free Comic Book Day issue is a great way to sample the fun of Capcom’s fighting game legend on the page.
