Have you noticed that I’ve become a bit obsessed with Conan lately? You’re not wrong. I discovered the Titan Comics series thanks to Free Comic Book Day. This proves it works, right?
Anyway, here we are back at the beginning of the series, seemingly ushering in some sort of Conan: Year One that continues from the prologue of FCBD issue 2023.
It doesn’t take long for Conan to find himself in trouble after leaving Cimmeria, and as soon as this issue begins, he gets involved in a bar brawl. Conan eventually emerges victorious and attempts to leave the city, but the female warrior’s dire warnings are ignored, and Conan finds himself embroiled in a truly horrifying situation.
As always, Jim Zub’s narration and dialogue are spot on. He really seems to understand Conan and his world. Roberto de la Torre’s art and Jose Villarrubia’s earth tones are also great, and this is a great start to a new era of Conan comics.
Robert E. Howard’s pulp heroes have always been great for comics, and Titan Comics has proven to be very safe with the Barbarian and his adventures so far.
Hello! I’m Jason. I write articles for midlifegamergeek.com every day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human-generated content (that’s never been plagiarized or copied through the efforts of other writers), please help us keep this site running by making a donation.
Not only do I not earn any money from my writing here (although I do earn a small commission from affiliate links posted on my page, but as an Amazon Associate I do earn from qualifying purchases from these links), my work sometimes seems to be stolen and repurposed by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
There’s no pressure, of course, but we really appreciate any support you can provide. You can easily support us through Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or the PayPal link.
Thank you very much for your donation. I would also like to thank you for taking the time to read my article. Please remember. This entire article is by Jason Brown and can be found at midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!
