After being disappointed by the annoyingly redundant and overstuffed third issue, this fourth issue of Harley Quinn and Elvira’s whimsical crossover actually manages to be fun again.

Trapped in Dracula’s castle, the two bosom friends of this title attract the attention of the Vampire Lord’s three wives, who want Harley and Elvira gone. Some characters are bent on revenge, and trouble befalls the dynamic duo from all sides.

Issue #4 is really fun, with lots of Universal Monsters style action and some great gags and sarcastic references. There are some deep cuts here, especially on the last page, that delve into real pop culture, and a number of jokes that definitely went over my head, considering its rapid pace of development. However, I did enjoy the little digs at the current Marvel/DC and DC/Marvel crossovers.

I’m glad that the art seems to have settled down to an acceptable level. I sometimes wonder what went wrong in issue 3 when things were so bad, but I’m glad that things are getting better now. Will issue #5 be able to maintain that level of quality? We’ll find out soon…

Hello! I’m Jason. I write articles for midlifegamergeek.com every day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human-generated content (that’s never been plagiarized or copied through the efforts of other writers), please help us keep this site running by making a donation.

Not only do I not earn any money from my writing here (although I do earn a small commission from affiliate links posted on my page, but as an Amazon Associate I do earn from qualifying purchases from these links), my work sometimes seems to be stolen and repurposed by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

No pressure, of course, but we really appreciate any support you can provide. You can easily support us through Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or the PayPal link.

Thank you very much for your donation. I would also like to thank you for taking the time to read my article. Please remember. This entire article is by Jason Brown and can be found at midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

All donations are gratefully received and will not only help me keep the lights on here, but will also help keep my writing dreams alive. However, please understand that there is no pressure. I hope you enjoy reading my article.
