Every week there’s a real horny that hits the stands of new comics. Readers often know exactly what they are most interested in (they have their pull lists sitting in the reliable hands of comic shops), but they are sometimes told about opposing that old trim and judging the book by its cover.

Some truly amazing cover art hits every week. These were the ones that caught Colin’s eye for the week of June 18th, 2025.

Alien vs Avengers #4

Variant by Jessica Fon

Alien franchises are at their best and isolated. In these stories, fans feel that the main character is most afraid when he is overwhelmed alone in the darkness. All of this is evident in this Spider-Man cover. His little glowstick, the squishy mass of Xenomorph. That’s scary.

Detective Comic #1098

Variants by Ashley Wood

Big bats and small birds. This cover appears to show Batman’s looming nature in his rogue spirit. And the penguin’s small “tap tap tap tap” sound effect is also fun.

Ducktales #5

Variants by Carlo Lauro

Magica de Spell is one of the all-star ducks. We love good Magica stories. I also love beautiful negative space artwork. I love that her magically transformed bird brother, Poe, fits her shoes. It’s instantly a splendid fashion.

Gi Joe #8

Variants by Jason Howard

Part of a series of connecting covers to celebrate the second anniversary of the Energon Universe, this Gi Joe cover looks like a heroic center: the Optimus and Duke Center stage. These covers are so packed with characters that it makes for fun games to Quiz yourself who is who.

Godzilla vs. Avengers #1

Variant by Lee Garbett

The “Match of the Century” Wheat Paste Flyer is an aesthetic of design that surprised me, and with moderate intentions it is not available to have the key players fighting each other over and over. In this case it is a little man and a giant lizard, clearly marking the underdogs of the match. Amazing, eye-catching colors, great rendering of the characters.

Crypto: The Last Dog of Crypton #1

Cover by Jerry

Using Jerry to describe a heartwarming, hard-to-cuddle book is an interesting choice. Of course, the heavily conceived masters of another world manage the tasks, but Lee is not synonymous with my puppies and babies. I love things like, “Oh, not once again.” This cover suggests as if this Cal Elle was essentially the short baby Herman of Roger Rabbit.

PEEPEE Poopoo #100,000

Caroline Cash Cover

This cover accurately represents the living spaces of my past, and perhaps the living spaces of thousands of creatives in their 20s now. Caroline Cash reports from the forefront of creative youth culture. that’s great.

Zatanna #5

Variant by Zoe Thorogood

Trogood is very wonderful. This is the perfect pinup of the classic Zatanna aesthetic. Costume and surrounded by the aesthetics of magic tricks. Exclude half of the dusty old vaudeville orchestra pit music.
