After renewing the blockbuster earlier this year, Heavy Metal Magazine has returned with issue 2. Fans heading to San Diego Comic-Con (July 23-27) get the first crack. The issue debuted early in Booth #4804 (shared by Heavy Metal and Genseven Creations) and features two exclusive SDCC variant covers. One is longtime contributor Lorenzo Sperlonga (limited to 500 copies), and the other is Escorza Bros (only 200 copies available). The magazine will then grow on July 30th at comic shops and newsstands.

Editor-in-chief Frank Forte shared his excitement. “The support for the renewal was incredible. I can’t wait to see the second issue early on and continue to push the boundaries between sci-fi and fantasy storytelling.”

Fans can meet the heavy metal team during SDCC, and Forte signs Sperlonga with Booth #1429 and Booth #4812.

Internal No. #2:

“Ink” – Brand new saga from Zeus’ Blood of Zeus Creators Charlie and Vras Parapanades with Marco Phila

New split of bugs by Heavy Metal Legend Enki Bilal

The Return of Valentina, brought to life by Sergio Gerasi

Tarna continues her journey, written by Leah Moore and John Lepion, with the art of Anna Morozova

Michael Conrad and Ilias Kyriazis debut a thrilling millstone

Plus new shorts from the revival of Alfonsofont with Justin Jordan & Ergo, Claudio Alvarez & Gerald Borges and Carmen Bond

In addition to the regular lineup, Question #2 will also bring back beloved classics like Bass by Paul Kirchner and Pepe Moreno in June 2050.

Check out the preview below featuring multiple story pages!

For fans, even more:

Heavy Metal has also announced the release of its Heavy Metal Library. This is a new line of high-end graphic novels that collect classic and unpublished stories. The first wave includes segments by Juan Giménez and Cyberpunk Cult’s Stefano Tamburini and Tanino Liberatore’s hit Ranxerox.

The subscription is open in three layers, available in three layers: softcover, collector’s hardcover and digital. Each subscription includes four quarterly issues plus an exclusive annual special with subscriber-only coverage.
