Ever since the release of the new Energon Universe GI Joe book, fans have been waiting to see the Real American Heroes collide with the Transformers. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. Today, Skybound announces the upcoming GI Joe issues 19 and 20, arriving in February and March, respectively, from the creative team of writer Joshua Williamson (The Duke, Superman) and artist Andrea Milana (Creepshow, Cobra Commander). Revealing details about the issue, with colors by Lee Lockridge (Universal Monsters: The Mummy) and letters by Russ Wootton (Invincible Universe: Battle Beasts), this powerhouse team will deliver powerful storytelling that fans won’t want to miss. GI JOE #19 and #20 hit comic shops in February and March, respectively.

According to a press release, Duke and Optimus Prime, the respective leaders of GI Joe and the Autobots, will finally meet for the first time in the Energon Universe. The publisher didn’t reveal too much, but teased the involvement of Clutch, Autobot Hound, and America’s Most Wanted, Matt Tracker!

In addition to the main cover by Tom Riley, GI JOE #19 features an amazing lineup by Joshua Cassara & Romulo Fajardo Jr., Ben Oliver, Tonci Zonjic, Trevor Hairsine & Romulo Fajardo Jr., Andy Lanning, a spoiler foil variant by Pi Per, and a premium foil mask variant by John Amor and Andres Juarez.

The cover lineup for GI JOE #20 includes the main cover by Tom Reilly, two orderable versions by Joshua Cassara and Ben Oliver, a 1:25 incentive variant by Tonči Zonjić, and a 1:50 incentive variant by Jorge Colon.
