Hellboy creator Mike Mignola has reteamed with acclaimed artist Rachel Arraño (Yultide, Mel: The Chosen) to return to the world of Leonid the Vampire in a new two-part comic book event, debuting this spring from Dark Horse Comics. Written by Mignola with art by Araño, colors by Dave Stewart, and letters by Clem Robbins, Leonid the Vampire: House of Yonda gives readers new insight into Leonid’s origins and sends her on an unpredictable new adventure. Both issues will feature covers by Aragno, with the first issue’s variation by Mignola and the second issue’s variation by Marc Laslow. “I am obsessed…
Last month at New York Comic Con’s “Jim Lee and Friends” panel, DC teased fans about what they can expect from DC KO, the current mega-event series that pits heroes against heroes. Arguably the most exciting announcement was that the event would open up to a wider multiverse, with characters from other publishers and franchises set to appear, including Homelander, Vampirella, and Red Sonja. The exact details of how these crossovers will occur were not revealed at the panel. Today, the publisher announced that it is soliciting information on previous one-shots related to the DC KO event. The one-shot, titled…
Top Comics to Buy This Week for November 19th features new comics from some of my favorite singular creators: writer Grant Morrison and writer/artist Tom Scioli. Morrison is writing the DC version of the Batman/Deadpool crossover, while Scioli is writing his own Twilight Zone story. A completely different comic, but definitely the highlight of a strong week. All five of my recommended single issues are listed below, along with a regular set of release lists. Enjoy! Popular comics to buy on November 19th Batman/Deadpool #1Screenplay: Grant Morrison. The good news is that Andrew McLean is back. The bad news is that he has an eternal fight to the death on his hands. But I think that’s good news, as it’s another stylish and violent fantasy comic from the creator of Head Lopper! This time, MacLean teams up with artist Alexis Gillitt (Space Riders) as a co-creator. While Death Fight Forever successfully kickstarted as a graphic novel, the serialized version will begin as a five-issue mini-series from Image Comics in February 2026. Like Head Lopper, this is a mashup of genres. This time’s theme is retro games, kung…
Slow Feet Comic has announced Horror Not Hate, a horror comic anthology and art book to be released in support of LGBTQIA+ and immigrant rights organizations. This is a 200-page collection of stories written by renowned professional talent from major and independent comic labels, underground comics creators, and up-and-coming newcomers. The stories are based on themes such as fascism, hatred, transphobia, homophobia, xenophobia, racism, and toxic patriotism. Horror Not Hate’s Kickstarter campaign hopes to raise funds, and all proceeds, excluding printing and shipping costs, will be divided equally between the Humane Immigrant Rights Coalition and Lambda’s Legal Defense and Educational…
Image credit: Image Comics Blessed as a one-hit wonder decades ago, Bud is recruited to save the world by a group made up of people who appear in famous song lyrics, including Ruby Tuesday, Eleanor Rigby, and Major Tom. All he has to do is write one more song, but can lightning strike twice in time and save everything we know from a malevolent force? This is a bit of a strange problem. Artist Martin Morazzo and colorist Chris O’Halloran have nailed it with stunningly surreal visuals, but the story of W. Maxwell Prince doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.…

“Most of London’s stories are not written in words; instead, they are a literature of stones and place names and their associations.” Comics are one of the most versatile storytelling mediums devised by mankind. You can do virtually anything within these pages. Not limited by budget. It’s just my imagination. You can tell all kinds of stories, both fiction and nonfiction, that blur both. From generic four-color fantasies with superhero fistfights to moving, soul-searching memoirs featuring planes from war-torn countries. It goes undercover in a profession not often seen in the media and provides a rare taste of perhaps one…
Kickstarter’s employee union, Kickstarter United, announced last week that it had reached a settlement after a 42-day strike and obtained “historic protections” for its employees. These include “strong codified protections” for the four-day work week, “improving pay equity by establishing salary floors that provide bonuses to the most undervalued workers,” and safeguards against generative AI. The company’s website details its Kickstarter by saying, “AI cannot replace roles, and when AI changes roles, management must work with employees,” and the new agreement includes “strong protections against replacing full-time employees with contractors,” and also promises “more input from employees in regular forums…
