Vin is a 23 year old international superstar. They started their career on Instagram in 2018 and quickly became leaders in the South American art scene. His work spans music (collaborations with Bring Me the Horizon and Never Say Die Records), anime (contributed to the EVANGELION x pixiv Fanart Collection), fashion (collaboration with his brand Hex Termina), and car culture ( collaboration with Hex Termina) across multiple industries. PRIX Workshop and PINKFLAMINGOUSA).

The self-taught artist is currently preparing to co-publish MY WAY, a hardcover art book showcasing his best work from 2018 to 2024, in collaboration with Clover Press. The book is published by Clover Press, known for its acclaimed graphic novels and art books.

The Beat reached out to Vinne via email to talk about this new project and more.

DIEGO HIGUERA: Your career started on Instagram in 2018. How has social media shaped your journey as an artist, and what role does it continue to play in your creative process today?

Vin: The internet itself has shaped my art style and how I express my art. Most of my works are my personal interpretations of things I see on the internet every day. Social media is still a very important part of the process, but it’s usually the last part you think about.

“HIGUERA: MY WAY” features your works from 2018 to 2024. We can only imagine the amount of artwork you had to put into it, how you selected the pieces for the collection, and what themes and moments in your career this book draws on. Are you emphasizing?

Vinne: I divided the works according to the emotions they express to me. This is a resume that records every moment of the past six years. It was a little hard to choose because I’ve learned so much over the years, but it was still fun to see how I progressed.

Higuera: You’ve been working on a wide range of projects, from collaborations with Evangelion and Bring Me the Horizon to launching the apparel brand Hex Termina. How do you go about balancing your work between these different industries?

VINNE: I love working on collaborations and commissions. Ever since we first released Hex Termina, I’ve felt a great connection with our fans. In my case, I found balance by only working with people I enjoy working with and learning how to be a good creative director.

HIGUERA: Your art often bridges anime, fashion, and car culture. Honestly, your art style is very much your own! People on the internet who know you and see your art will be able to point you out right away. What attracts you to these fields and how do they interact with each other in your work?

Vin: It’s almost all related to my childhood and just floating around and suddenly coming back. My father was a mechanic and I remember spending all day looking at cars and nights watching anime. That led to my early interest in fashion and Japanese culture.

Higurashi: You’ve said that you were inspired by Japanese culture and artists such as Yoshitaka Amano and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. How do these influences shape your artistic style and how do you incorporate them into your unique voice?

Vin: Mr. Sadamoto is just amazing. I’m a master who just stares at his great work and studies it, trying to understand what he did. Amano is a fantasy mastermind, a pioneer of this fantasy style, and almost everything related to this theme has a little bit of his DNA in it. I have a lot of respect for this legend.

Higera: Please give a message to our readers and fans.

VINNE: MY WAY reflects my 6 years of learning and applying new knowledge, art based on my emotions and interests. I hope you enjoy this book. Thank you for reading.
