At New York Comic Con on Thursday, Onipress announced a new horror limited series that will debut in January. Spirit of the Shadows is a five-part story co-written by Daniel Ziegler and Nick Canetti, with Canetti also providing art.
Spirit of the Shadows follows Eric Leroux, the ghost of a mortal musician whose greatest loves were Melody and a woman named Katrina. After his untimely death, he turned into something unrecognizable. Here is the full synopsis:
Once upon a time, Eric Leroux was a mortal musician who selflessly dedicated himself to his music and his true love, Katrina. . . Until his sudden death plunges his soul into a carnival-like torment in the spirit world beyond our own. Now reincarnated as a ghost with fleeting memories of his life among the living, and eternally cursed to wear the esoteric costume worn by his corpse to the grave, Eric intends to crawl out of the hellish dimension to uncover the mysteries of his life. . . And take revenge for the dark sin that turned him into the SPIRIT OF THE SHADOWS!

Spirit of the Shadows #1 will be available digitally and at local comic shops on January 28, 2026.
