2025 marks the 75th anniversary of Charles M. Schulz’s legendary Peanuts comic strip, and Abrams ComicArts will release “The Essential Peanuts” by Mark Evanier (Glue, Kirby: King of Comics). boom! The studio announced that it has acquired the comic book rights to the 1985-88 animated TV series “Jems and the Holograms,” owned by Hasbro. Via The Hollywood Reporter, Oni Press has announced that writer and artist Matt Kindt will be transferring the copyright to Flux House to the publisher. Flux, which Kindt founded in Dark Horse in 2022, plans to start selling new and old books through Oni in 2026. Additionally, the deal will give Oni’s parent company, Polarity, access to Kint’s books and help develop films, television, animation, video games and audio based on his work. On the morning of Thursday, October 2, 2025, Kickstarter United announced via its GoFundMe page that a majority of its members voted to authorize a strike on September 26 after the crowdfunding platform and unionized employees were unable to reach a new contract agreement. The strike is the latest escalation in a months-long contract battle between Kickstarter and its unionized employees. Last year at New York Comic Con, IDW announced the launch of a new horror imprint titled IDW Dark. Ahead of this weekend’s NYCC, the publisher announced via new titles from The Line Smile, A Quiet Place, Operation: Iron Coffin, and Exercises at Buckingham Palace.
