Allpacka’s Kickstarter campaign starts today, making their innovative folding box for bikes available for pre-order. The concept behind it can be explained like this: The Allpacka One cargo box is permanently attached to your luggage carrier and is always with you, whether you suddenly go shopping after work or bring something to a BBQ. The box intuitively folds and unfolds when you need it. Meanwhile, when you don’t need the box, it folds flat and thus barely gets in the way. So your bike doesn’t get any wider and the folded box doesn’t get in the way of getting on and off your bike.
Just unfold it when you need it: Allpacka One Box
With a load capacity of 20 kg and a volume of 35 liters, the Allpacka One is a true transport miracle. Thanks to the attachment points, even a wooden box with drinks can be transported safely. The only requirement is, of course, that your bike’s luggage rack is also designed to accommodate such luggage. When unfolded, the base area is 50 x 31 cm and the box weighs 2.5 kg. In principle, the box is designed for use with all standard luggage carriers and is also compatible with standard panniers. Luggage can be further secured using the various attachment points.
Pannier bags are also compatible with Allpacka One
The box is made from weatherproof plastic and attaches securely to the luggage carrier with four screws, which makes it theft-proof but means it cannot be used to load or unload your bike. Its modular design means individual parts can be easily replaced if needed.
The Allpacka One can be pre-ordered via its Kickstarter page at a discounted price starting from 99 euros, although deliveries are not scheduled until summer 2025. More information on the project can be found directly on the Allpacka website.
