By popular demand, the first volume of Oni Press’ horror fantasy The Autumn Kingdom is being reprinted in a second printing. The second printing features a beautiful new cover by artist Christopher Mitten in deep teal and midnight purple, and three pairs of glowing eyes emerging from the jungle.
Written by Cullen Bunn, illustrated by Mitten, colored by Francesco Segara, and lettered by Taylor Esposito, Volume 1 of The Autumn Kingdom has received overwhelmingly positive reviews, with The Beat magazine calling it “a compelling and brilliant dark fantasy story that’s perfect for young readers and genre fans alike.”
The story follows a bestselling author named Andrew Keir who retreats with his family to a secluded cabin on the edge of a Swedish forest to finish his latest dark fantasy novel. His two daughters, Sommer and Winter, go on an adventure and come across a clearing full of ancient statues, including a warrior queen with a missing sword hand and weapon. When their parents are kidnapped, Sommer and Winter must find the ancient artifacts to save them and themselves.
