Phoenix Springs, the incredibly stylish point-and-click game that garnered attention during Summer Game Fest’s Day of the Devs, is arriving a bit later than planned: the neo-noir detective game will be hitting Steam on October 7th, rather than the previously announced September 16th. Calligram Studio plans to release Phoenix Springs on GOG and Itch.io later this year, and is also in talks with publishers to release console ports.
Calligram said it was delaying its Steam release date by a few weeks because it “lost a bit of momentum this summer.” Phoenix Springs, which will sell for $20, is being developed by a three-person team and just needed the extra time.
Senior reporter Jessica Condit had a chance to try out Phoenix Springs during Summer Game Fest and was impressed: the hand-drawn art and intriguing story are a winning combination, so it’s not the end of the world if you have to wait a few more weeks to unravel the mystery.
