The Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign for the overseas indie yuri magazine Galette ended on Monday, raising 7,006,980 yen (about $48,008) from 619 backers, exceeding the 1.8 million yen (about $12,332) goal. The campaign aims to re-edit and translate the overseas special edition of the magazine into English, and the campaign has also achieved all of its stretch goals.
The international edition will feature manga from past editions and will feature work by manga artists such as Morinaga Miruku, Hakamada Mera, Yotozaki Haru, Yorita Miyuki, Momono Moto, Hamano Ringo, Tachibana Izumi, and Nekohariko22.
The folks at Galette described the magazine as follows:
“Galette” is an independent yuri comic magazine that includes various genres of yuri, including manga and illustrations. We want to depict love stories between girls! We want to consistently deliver high-quality yuri! A group of yuri artists who agreed with this idea planned the yuri comic magazine “Galette”.
The magazine’s latest issue, No. 31, was released on August 18. The magazine is published four times a year, with the first issue released in February 2017.
