If you’re looking for a Darkwing graphic novel collection, the Darkwing Duck Kickstarter is the place for you. But hurry, it’s ending soon – on Wednesday, July 3rd at 3pm EST.

Three graphic novel volumes, Darkly Dawns the Duck, Cowl & Fowl, and Heroes and Villains, will be released and offered in several versions, including paperback, hardcover, hardcover signed by author Tad Stones, and a remarked premiere oversized edition.

Darkly Dawns the Duck features issue #4 of the 1991 Darkwing Duck series released by Walt Disney Productions, as well as Marvel Comics stories that appeared in Disney Afternoon #1-10 from 1991. This collection contains 14 comics.

Cowl & Fowl is the adventure series from Amanda Deibert and Carlo Lauro that was published the previous year by Dynamite Entertainment, and this collection includes all ten issues plus new bonus features, plus a huge cover gallery.

Heroes and Villains features two spin-off series: The Justice Ducks, written by Roger Langridge and illustrated by Carlo Lauro, and Negaduck, written by Jeff Parker and illustrated by Ciro Cangialosi. This collection contains 13 comics and an extensive cover gallery.

The campaign has been a huge success, with over 2,000 backers and nearly $300,000 raised as of this writing, from an initial goal of $25,000.

Stones recently spoke with The Beat magazine, explaining why Darkwing Duck continues to captivate fans all these years after its TV series debut in 1991. “When I was first invited to be a guest at the convention, I was surprised at how many fans connected emotionally to the bond between Drake Mallard/Darkwing Duck and Gosalyn, some of whom had difficult childhoods and that relationship was close to their hearts,” he said. “Plus there’s the general appeal of nostalgia for the things we loved when we were younger.”

The paperback edition is priced at $45 and the hardcover edition is priced at $55. As of the publication of this article, Kickstarter pledges have already reached nearly $299,000, well above the original goal of $25,000. We’ll see if they reach the secret $300,000 stretch goal. The Kickstarter ends on July 3 at 3 PM EST.
