Comic horror anthology Still Infinity stares into the void again and again and shows us what’s out there. As you can imagine, it’s not exactly a pleasant sight.

Six horrifying stories are featured here, moving from the horrors of the flesh to the mind-bending horrors of the infinite universe and beyond.

Although there is not always a clear and clearly interpretable outcome, the journey each story takes us on is always fascinating and sometimes frightening.

However, it’s not all dark and disturbing. The surreal science fiction of A Pale Blue Dot, for example, has the darkest humor. And the psychedelic adventure we undertake in Travelers from Taxulia is as beautiful as it is existentially terrifying.

The artwork is incredibly strong throughout, with an incredibly diverse collection of styles from each story’s artists. Each piece employs an aesthetic that perfectly matches author Manoj Gedera’s subject matter.

I particularly enjoyed the non-Euclidean geometry and sense of scale of Danny Porain’s The Expected Visitor, as well as works that expand on the spirit of Ariel Quintero’s The Taxurian Traveler.

However, it seems a bit unfair to single out these two. Because each artist brings something powerful and different to the table.

Atmospheric scene-setting includes the shocking facial gore of Nicolas Nieto in The Truth Eaters, the ancient, almost mystical feel of Ramses Sandoval’s The Assassination of Maharaja Vikramarca, the dusty grit of The Gunslinger (also by Ariel Quintero), and the retro 60s feel of Ricardo Palabele’s Pale Blue Dot. Beyond the script, each story contains something new and unique.

It’s a really impressive and well-written manga. If you like your short stories and anthologies to have a dark edge, and you don’t mind that there may not be an easily interpreted or understandable conclusion, this is probably going to be down a very dark, cosmically twisted alley.

Thanks to Manoj Gedela for sending me a copy of Still Infinity for review purposes. As of this writing, you can get a copy of this wonderfully unique anthology by backing Still Infinity on Kickstarter.

Hello! I’m Jason. I write articles for midlifegamergeek.com every day. If you’re interested in supporting original, regularly published, human-generated content (that’s never been plagiarized or copied through the efforts of other writers), please help us keep this site running by making a donation.

Not only do I not earn any money from my writing here (although I do earn a small commission from affiliate links posted on my page, but as an Amazon Associate I do earn from qualifying purchases from these links), my work sometimes seems to be stolen and repurposed by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.

There’s no pressure, of course, but we really appreciate any support you can provide. You can easily support us through Ko-Fi.com/geekmid or the PayPal link.

Thank you very much for your donation. I would also like to thank you for taking the time to read my article. Please remember. This entire article is by Jason Brown and can be found at midlifegamergeek.com. Take that, Skynet!

Please support me here!

All donations are gratefully received and will not only help me keep the lights on here, but will also help keep my writing dreams alive. However, please understand that there is no pressure. I hope you enjoy reading my article.
