After his last victory, X is looking for Mavericks at the weapons factory. What he discovered there was both surprising and potentially deadly.
These comics are so much fun. I know I say it all the time, but it’s worth repeating. While these aren’t the deepest stories, there’s something about Udon’s comics that makes them feel different, and these Mega Man titles are no exception.
With gorgeous artwork, great references to video games (including a photo variation cover that pays homage to the Mega Man X SNES game), and near-nonstop action, it feels like a perfectly adapted digital experience.
There’s an entire sequence here that’s framed to look like a 2D Mega Man stage, and it’s awesome. Sure, the dialogue is cheesy and there’s little plot.
But it still feels like the creepy narrative style of the early 90s Mega Man games. For fans, this is truly a perfect performance. We don’t expect deep lore or complicated plots, just good old retro game adaptations with beautiful art and exciting action. That’s certainly what we got here and we’re already looking forward to the next chapter of X’s quest!
Hello! I’m Jason. I write articles for midlifegamergeek.com every day.
