In October, DC and Marvel announced a new Superman/Spider-Man crossover to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Superman and Spider-Man’s first meeting. After DC announced details for Superman/Spider-Man #1 to ship in March, Marvel was expected to follow suit. Sure enough, today Marvel announced details of the creators involved in Spider-Man/Superman #1, which ships in April, and the pairings that will appear in the one-shot’s backup story.

The new Spider-Man/Superman #1 will retail for $7.99 and is headlined by a key feature from New York Times bestselling author Brad Meltzer and artist Pepe Larraz on a story that pits Spider-Man and the Man of Steel against Lex Luthor and Norman Osborn.
In a press release, Meltzer expressed immense enthusiasm:
“I’ve been waiting 50 years to write this book. Superman and Spider-Man have had a bigger impact on me than most real-life people. I carry them with me everywhere, and our story cuts to the heart of what it means to be a good person. I’m honored that Nick Lowe and everyone at Marvel asked. Wait until you see Pepe’s work.
