There’s been a lot of Superboy flying around the DCU these days, with the recent return of Superboy-Prime to the pages of Superman. From the old-school adventures of a young Clark Kent in action to the present-day existence of Conner Kent and Jon Kent, when you add Superboy-Prime to the mix, that number becomes an even number four. And as DC enters the second act of its All In initiative, if two are allies and three is crowd in the Superman titles, then four definitely reigns supreme.
DC has announced Reign of the Superboys, a new storyline that will run through four Superfamily titles starting in March. With Superman apparently missing in the aftermath of the DC KO event, the Action Comics, Superman, Superman Unlimited, and Supergirl superseries will feature one of the DCU’s Superboys in a starring or supporting role in what DC describes as “an epic story that spans the Superman family and advances DC’s new Superboy saga beyond March.” According to the publisher, readers can check each title individually or read them all to get the full text.
Of course, the title of this story is an homage to the 1993 Reign of the Supermen story that followed Superman’s title after his death. That storyline initially kept the four titles and four new Supermans separate, but it only took a few months for the series to start crossover and interlinking. Will Reign of the Superboys follow suit? And is the DCU big enough to contain more than one Superboy? (It’s likely. There are thousands of Green Lanterns and dozens of Flashes, so it’s probably okay.)

DC’s promo promises that “Boy Thunder’s army of clones” will help the depowered and cybernetically enhanced Supergirl (A Good Ruler Needs a Cyborg) and Superboy Conner Kent lead a revolution within Kandor. It’s pure chaos and looks like a lot of fun.

After the shocking event of DC KO, Superman went missing. But one hero steps forward in his place… Superboy-Prime?! Usually Prime just attends big DC events, but this time he’s serious about showing the world he can be as great a hero as Superman. Superstar artist Dan Mora returns to Superman for an action-packed and fun adventure that changes the face of the DC Universe.
The DCU survived the crossover with Deadpool, but will Superboy-Prime be able to help out with regular monthly meta-commentary?
All four titles are scheduled to be available in-store and digitally in March 2026.
