In partnership with Tribune Content Agency and New Wave Comics, Mad Cave Studios has announced a festive new Dick Tracy one-shot. Dick Tracy: St. Patrick’s Day Special will debut in March 2026, and The Beat has all the details.

Written by series writers Alex Segura and Michael Moresi, featuring guest writer Tim Seeley, art by Craig Cermak and Rebecca Isaacs, colors by Mark Englert and Marissa Louise, and letters by Patrick Brosseau, this one-shot throws the iconic detective into timeless seasonal fun. Here is the full synopsis:

Dick Tracy’s luck runs out in this special St. Patrick’s Day themed one-shot. When a masked vigilante begins murdering some of the City’s wealthiest and most corrupt citizens, Tracy and Sam must put their own feelings aside to solve the crime. Will the new partners be able to survive and solve the mystery? From the team that brought you last year’s acclaimed and best-selling DICK TRACY HALLOWEEN SPECIAL. Besides, what’s a heartbroken Akers O’Reilly to do? Will she finally be able to shake off her bad luck and get the chance for happiness she deserves?

This feature includes the main cover art by Gerald Borges and Englert, with a variation by Jacob Phillips. See both below.

“Michael and I love adding to the complex and established legacy of Dick Tracy, and these holiday specials provide the perfect opportunity,” Segura said in the announcement. “We’re introducing a new killer villain with strong ties to those that came before, and introducing Tracy and Sam as partners in an unforgettable and thought-provoking case! Craig is the perfect partner and we’re so lucky to be working with him on this production.”

“We’re thrilled to have Tim and Rebecca on board. Their stories are amazing,” said Moreci. “It’s just a thrill to keep Dick Tracy alive while finding new voices and new stories. And what Alex and I have created is so exciting to me. This may be our most powerful effort yet!”

Seeley added, “Dick Tracy, managed by Mike and Alex, is something of a modern-day Eisner spirit, with the title character acting as a tour guide to a quirky and wonderful world filled with great characters. I had the pleasure of working with one of my favorite collaborators, Rebecca Isaacs, on Acre O’Reilly, a nine-foot cab driver, a big-hearted Irish-American who’s having a bad St. Patrick’s Day.”

Dick Tracy: St. Patrick’s Day Special will be available digitally and at local comic shops on March 11, 2026. FOC is February 16th, so you can head to your local shop and pre-order.
