Roku Souna’s GIZMO RISER explores class inequality

In spring 2025, Titan Manga announced that it has acquired the license to translate and adapt Roku Souna’s manga series “Gizmolizer” into English, which depicts an unequal (and relatable) society. The English version of Gizmo Raiser is currently scheduled to be released digitally on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at select comic shops and bookstores where Titan Manga is sold, as well as manga e-reader apps and websites.

Sona’s “Gizmolizer” series debuted in Mag Garden’s “Mag Comic” in May 2024 and ran for 12 issues until ending in May 2025. Two volumes have been released in Japanese so far.

The Titan manga describes Gizmo Riser’s story as follows:

In the towering kingdom of Ulnaria, society is literally built on inequality. The richest people live at the top, while the poor are trapped in the dark, crumbling depths below.

For Kuro, a young slave raised by his uncle in the lowest class, life has no future, only work, loss, and silence. However, when his uncle is executed by the state, Kuro inherits a mysterious device, Gizmo. Gizmo is a mechanical glove with the power to grip, expand, and rebel against the very systems created to crush him.

Armed only with this illegal tool and a burning desire for freedom, Kuro climbs the tower and begins to fight against a society that deems him worthless.

Rocco Souna’s Gizmo Raiser blends sci-fi action with sharp social commentary, challenging readers to consider the cost of hierarchy and the courage it takes to stand up. Perfect for fans of BLAME!, Deadman Wonderland, and Made in Abyss, Roku Souna’s bold debut offers explosive world-building, unforgettable visuals, and a hero who refuses to stay put.

Titan Manga has exclusively revealed the cover artwork and design of the English edition, as well as a first look excerpt of the first volume, to The Beat.

Gizmo Riser will be available on February 17, 2026 for $12.99. US-based readers can pre-order the first volume of the series on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Books-A-Million, while UK and European fans can pre-order on Forbidden Planet.
