Marvel Comics has announced Predator: Bloodshed, a new five-issue series that sees the titular alien hunters take on an entirely new field: MMA. Written by Jordan Morris (Youth Group) and illustrated by Roland Boschi (Rogue Storm), the comic revolves around an underground martial arts tournament that is crashed by one of the monsters, forcing the contestants to band together to defeat it.

In the near future, Earth’s fiercest heroes gather for an underground martial arts tournament sponsored by a dark organization. But all hell breaks loose when an unexpected combatant appears in the ring: the alien Predator! Now, champions are not only fighting for the Grand Prix, they are also fighting for their lives. Will a group of disparate competitors be able to unite in time to survive the extraterrestrial hunters? Choose your fighters, place your bets, and prepare for a bloody tournament like no other!
The book is Morris’ third Marvel work, following this year’s anthology Predator: Black, White & Blood and next month’s Venom #252. “It was such an honor to be a part of Predator: Black, White & Blood. Yauzita is one of the coolest characters in pop culture history, and I can’t believe the good people at Marvel are letting us tell another longer, bloodier, bloodier story in this wonderful world!”
“Predator As a lifelong fan of the series, I know that the Yautjita love to test themselves in new challenges, and I thought an underground martial arts tournament where Earth’s mightiest warriors come together under one roof and cry out to each other would be the ideal challenge for the galaxy’s mightiest hunters.I grew up on fighting games and martial arts movies, so I think an underground martial arts tournament is the coolest setting out there, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it.” Yaujita is definitely a destroyer! ”
Boschi also said, “I’ve been a fan of Predator since the first movie. The iconic threat of hostile nature, the hunter overwhelmed by brutal attacks, the hunted…and explosions! Combine that with a wild MMA tournament. I know it’s going to be thrilling!”
The first issue will be released on February 25th. Meanwhile, the latest Predator movie, Predator: Badlands, is currently in theaters after setting a series record with an opening weekend gross of $40 million. The first part of the movie is currently being released, and Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #4 (out of 5 episodes) will be released next week.
