Drawn & Quarterly has released its Spring 2026 catalog headlined by Tillie Walden’s upcoming graphic novel, Charity & Silvia. The book, scheduled for release on May 26, tells the true story of Charity Bryant and Sylvia Drake, a lesbian couple living in Vermont in the early 19th century.

Being openly gay in 19th century New England isn’t easy. But Charity can only be herself, and she soon catches and holds the eye of none other than Sylvia Drake. From this point on, for 44 years, they were inseparable, building a life together despite all odds, living as a lesbian couple in a small town in Vermont.
The book is Walden’s first work with Drawn & Quarterly and his first personal graphic novel since 2019’s Are You Listening?, during which time he has worked on books such as Skybound’s Clementine trilogy and Tegan and Sarah’s Junior High and Crash. She began working on the book in 2024 after the Vermont Department of Humanities suggested the premise. The Vermont Humanities Department provided her with a residency through a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to produce this book.

Appleguy & Beefwood by Cedar Van Tassel (June 9), a surreal comic about rural farming.
Dogs on Dates (June 16) by Luke Healy, a gay rom-com about two anthropomorphic dogs;
The Moomin Adventures: Volume 3 (June 23) by Lars and Tove Jansson, the publisher’s latest reprint of the classic comic featuring Jansson’s beloved trolls.
The Manifesto (June 30), illustrated by R. Sikolyak, depicts this seminal document in “more than 60 different American comics, manga, and graphic novel styles,” arriving in time for the 250th anniversary of its signature.
The Legend of Kamuy: Volume 4 (July 7) by Sanpei Shirato, the next release of the English version of the classic manga.
Moominsummer Madness (”) by Tove Jansson, hardcover reprint of the 1954 illustrated book.
“Beware Her Fury” by Million Maru (August 11). The story of a queer woman from Montreal who joins a support group for survivors of sexual assault like herself.
A Nobody Artist by Yoshiharu Tsuge (“”) is a semi-autobiographical collection of short stories by manga artist Yoshiharu Tsuge, originally published between 1981 and 1985.
