It’s hard to believe that the Ben 10 franchise is over 20 years old. Despite gaining a devoted fanbase, the beloved property has mysteriously gone into limbo since its most recent animated series ended on Cartoon Network several years ago. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait. After teasing new licensed comics, Dynamite has officially announced that a new era of Ben 10 will begin with a new ongoing comic series starting in February.
Additionally, Ben 10 creators of Action, consisting of Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, Duncan Rouleau, and Steven T. Seagle. According to a press release, writer Joe Casey will lead the way in writing the first few stories and will be joined by artist Robert Carey.
The publisher has teased a revamped origin, albeit much closer to the vest.

For this inventive new phase of Ben 10, Casey, Carey, and company are taking a simpler, action-oriented approach. Beloved animated series exist for the fans who grew up with it and for future generations to continue discovering it. This comic series updates the concept for a modern audience, but of course is drawn with the endless possibilities of the comic form and utilizes a wider range of tones, from the emotional to the surreal, and beyond drama, comedy and tragedy.
“Ben 10 is obviously something very close to our hearts and has been for the last 20 years,” said original series writer Joe Casey. “So we feel good about finally presenting Ben and his vision of the myth in the way and format that we’ve always wanted to see. This is basically a straight-up superhero comic that competes with every major series out there. This is the ‘ultimate’ or ‘absolute’ Ben 10.”
It all starts with an updated Origin in issue #1, bringing both old and new Ben 10’s incredible characters and mythology.
From there, Man of Action Brain Trust recontextualizes the biggest hits and coolest components of previous iterations and polishes them into the most perfect presentation. They expand and add to the vein of classic superhero comics with a thoughtful approach to continuity that can reward both adult fans of the original show and younger readers who have never met terrifying foes like his cousin Gwen, Grandpa Max, Vilgax, and the powerful aliens of the Omnitrix.
