For the next two months, Image Comics will feature Rob Liefeld’s Youngblood on variant covers throughout the public line. Liefeld is tied to the renewal of Youngblood, the first film with the characters in many years, and Image sends shafts, budlocks, chapels, die hard and more.
Youngblood (2025) #1 rolls deep with 27 retailer-only variants, 30 team-up variants, black and white variants, and incentive ratio variants brought only by raw Liefeld energy.
“This was my most humble experience as a creator and the most exciting experience for me as a fan,” Liefeld said in a statement. “To see the epic and legendary talents of Gary Frank, Ivan Reis, Brian Hitch, Dave Finch, and more, I draw Youngblood on all these incredible image titles, drawing more names than I can, and it’s as thrilling as I can imagine.
“From the moment Youngblood first revealed that he was back, there was a surge in excitement among everyone in the image, so it seemed like a great way to bring it together and lead a series of team-up variations.” “Rob’s character design is the second and really shows just how amazing all these different interpretations are!”
Youngblood #1 in 1992 marked the first image comic publication. Liefeld’s character had previously debuted in Ramm #1 in 1987, but like Savage Dragon (which also debuted in indie comics a few years ago), Youngblood has become synonymous with the comic era led by image and company.
