Dynamite Entertainment has announced that a fifth addition to the collected paperback edition of the original Vampirella Run will be on the shelves this December. Vampirella Archives Volume 5 continues to provide an affordable reprint of Draculon’s original run and daughter of Anthology Tales. Volume 5 includes issues #29-35 of Vampirella Magazine, originally released by Warren Publishing between 1973 and 1974.
Fans can choose from several eras of Vampirella or continue their two-month release schedule for these beautifully collected editions, jumping wherever they are. In Volume 5, fans can find Flaxman Loew’s run at Vampirella at #28-36. Artist Jose Gonzalez adds Lowe with a cast of incredible talent in the classic tales of Jose Ortiz portrayed by Steve Englehart, Doug Mornch and artist Esteban Maloto.
One of the key attractions of Volume 5 is the first appearance of Panthra, the Vampirera #30 Vampi cat fanatic created by Steve Skate and Raphael Aura Leon. Panthra starts with four series in this new paperback collection and two stories featuring Lamon Trent’s character Fleur.
Another highlight of this new collected volume 5 is the artwork from the series by painter Jeffrey Catherine Jones. Question #32-34 all feature her contributions. For one, along with Barry Windsor Smith and Michael Carta, was joined by his legendary Studio Collective compatriot Bernie Wrightson.
Now is your chance to read one of the most iconic strong female characters in and out of the comic industry from the start with Dynamite’s affordable trade paperback program. A sneak peek into the next volume, fans can expect three vampi stories drawn by Leopold Sanchez, Esteban Maloto’s vision of Dracula, and Archie Goodwin’s unexpected return.
Check out the preview below. Don’t forget to pre-order Vampirella Archives Volume 5, which will be out at the bookstore this December!
