After the death of the police officer she is responsible for, Chloe runs alongside the Ghostbox. Inside the box itself, her sister is shown such a sight, but not everyone is what they see in the universe contained within the box.
Despite the long sequence of expos in this issue, it remains very entertaining, with plenty of suspense in both the real world and the events unfolding within the box. For one, there is a truly neat and unsettling twist, and writer Mike Carrey delivered it in a very shocking way, and was very competently helped by the art of Pablo Raimondi.
I really enjoy the ghostbox, but it’s a bit disappointing that it’s been flying so far under the radar. This was true of so many Comixology Originals, especially in the wake of Amazon being hampered by its dedicated apps and stores. They still appear to fund the comixology Originals program, but their promotion for it, and their handling of comics in general, are surprisingly inappropriate, with titles like Ghostbox unfortunately completely engulfed in the work of the large retailers themselves.
Amazon’s Comixology closure was a strange and unnecessary self-harm when they were free to have the best comic reading app in the world. Frankly, it’s strange to discover something like Ghostbox despite Amazon’s best efforts to hide it.
Hello! I’m Jason and I write for midlifegamergeek.com every day. If you’re interested in supporting regular, original human-generated content (which has never been plagiarized or copied from the hard work of other authors), you can keep this site up and running.
Not only can I not earn money from writing here (I might earn a small fee from affiliate links posted on the page, but as an Amazon associate I make money from qualifying purchases from these links), but it seems that my work is sometimes stolen and reused by lazy, morally bankrupt idiots.
Of course there’s no pressure, but I’m really grateful for the support I can provide. It’s easy to do with any of these links: ko-fi.com/geekmid or paypal.
