Disney’s iconic 1994 film The Lion King returns to a new comic series published by Dynamite Comics from author/artist Edwingalmon, which will be released on November 12th, 2025.

The Lion King marks Garmon’s writing debut, having previously performed artwork and covers for multiple dynamite titles such as Lilo & Stitch, Stitch, Giantsize Wacky Races, The Terminator, and Thundercats: Cheetara.

“It’s a humble experience to have the honor and opportunity to work together proudly in the Lion King franchise. This is where my childhood imagination meets my adult craftsmanship and I hope people are really enjoying the stories we cooked!” Garmont said. “As a child, my favorite part of the Lion King film was all the scenes featuring Mufasa and Simba, as it relates to how much I love and respect my father. With that in mind, I wanted father bonds, loving guidance, stupid playtime, and mentorship themes for Simba to have fun with his father.”

The audience follows the ruler of the Pridelands and his young heirs as they navigate a web of complex relationships across their vast kingdoms. Mufasa will teach his son how to protect his home from the powers that threaten peace and harmony from both outside and inside the pack
