Dracula may be one of the most legendary and terrifying vampires of lore, but in the brunch club of Dracula’s new intermediate graphic novel by Brian Gonzaru and Keenan Gaiba, he also has a bit of sweet tooth. Ahead of the book’s release, The Beat has an exclusive preview of this unique look of Drac’s love for baking.
Here’s the full overview of Dracula’s Branch Club:
Count Dracula is not your average vampire. Certainly, he is undead, hates garlic and burns in the sunlight, but unlike other vampires, he has a baking tip. And it is the famous blood orange jelly dounatsu of his brunch club who gives his fellow vampires the energy they need to live forever. However, when Transylvania experiences a mysterious lack of jelly, his nemesis, Constantine, is able to swoop and steal the brunch club and vampire loyalty from Dracula. But it’s not just jelly doutsu. When Townsfolk begins to disappear, Dracula suspects Constantine is hiding with a much more ominous motive that could threaten everything vampires and humans have worked for. Dracula, with the help of her chef and human friend Elena, must find a new source of energy before all vampires and humans attach him.

“I’m always jealous of the kids carrying goosebumps and other horrifying stories,” Gonzal said. “I wanted to read them too, but I didn’t like being scared. This book is here to improve it. It’s a creepy rapper comedy and can keep even the most intense situations in the light.
This non-gaze on Dracula also includes a preface by Kevin Jonas.
Dracula’s Brunch Club is available anywhere on sale from ONI Press on August 26th.
