Welcome to the AIPT Comics Podcast, the biggest news, the hottest comics, and the weekly guide to creators who shape the industry.

This week we dive into a stacked news lineup. Marvel’s November 2025 solicitation landed on over 180 covers, including the X-Men debut in Apocalypse #1. Additionally, there is a controversy with Captain America #6’s “United Captains,” with Echo gaining a shocking new abilities in Seeker in Truth #1, and Wiccan ultimately finds his first solo series. Marvel is shaking the collectors’ market with blind bagging variants in Ultimate Endgame #1.

In DC, it’s a mystery and mayhem with a “light-out” variant of the polybug in DC KO #1, with Wonder Woman facing a terrifying new villain called Matriark in issue 25, and Jeffremia brings the JSA back to the golden age with JSA: year one. Frank Miller and Todd MacFarlane are also reuniting on spawn for the first time in over 30 years, with Image Comic reprinting the historic All-Negro comics, and Marjorie Liu teaming up with Garry Brown in the brand new BRZRKR series.

Before we dig into the news, we stick to an interview with Thule, who brings the Wizard of Oz back to the comics with this month’s brand new Kickstarter. We’ll be delving into the archives, balancing writing and art, and how she places her creative spin in one of the most beloved stories of all time.

You can find it on streaming the AIPT comic podcasts below or on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, or where you can get the podcasts.

The Best Book of the Week of the AIPT Comics Podcast:

Dave:

Detective Comics #1100 (Various) Absolute Batman #11 (Scott Snyder, Clayman)

Chris:

Escape #1 (Rick Remender and Daniel Acuña) Bloodletter #3 (Joseph Illidge, Tim Seeley, Christian Rosado)

This week’s outstanding Kapou moment:

Chris: Escape #1 (Rick Remender and Daniel Acuña)

Dave: New Avengers #3 (Sam Humphreys, Tonlima)

Judging by the cover segment, Dave loves the invisible man #1 variant cover by Rosemary Valero O’Connell, and Chris can’t get enough of the Imperial War of Nimit Maravia: Planet Shehark #1 variant cover.

Check both below!
