2023 Graphic Novel and Art Anthology Blondie: Abs the Odds is a LCSD edition featuring a brand new dust jacket designed by Montos, and celebrates the 50th anniversary of Blondie. This year’s Local Comic Shop Day will be held on Saturday, September 27th, 2025.

“In support of local comic shop day and ahead of the release of Blondie’s new studio album High NOON in spring 2026, Z2 will release an LCSD version featuring the art of Rising Comics Superstar Montos, available at local comic shops in North America.”

Debbie Harry (lead singer) and Chris Stein (lead guitarist) founded the iconic American rock band Blondie in 1974. Known as a pioneer in the punk and new wave scene of the 1970s, Blondie has been a true global icon for over 40 years. The band’s fearless vision hit the first chart topping rock – disco hit “Heart of Glass” in 1979, selling over 40 million albums worldwide, and won the introduction of Rock & Roll of Fame in 2006.

But Blondie’s story isn’t over. In the spring of 2026, they are currently planning to release their 12th studio album, High Noon. The album is the first new album since the 2017 pollinator, and follows the reissue of No Exit, a reissue of the 25th anniversary reissue via BMG on October 30, 2025.

Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry said, “One of the things that brought us together as a band was comics and comic art. No matter how you slice it, Blondie has its roots deep in the genre.”

Read the official graphic novel explanation below.

Blondie: The odds begin with a surreal, fantastical interpretation of the oral history of the band, published by Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Connor and Montos. This introduction to the formation of the band is followed by a row of artists and writers killers offering 15 illustrations and 15 stories, and interpreting 15 songs from the band’s inventive catalogue, followed by an essay by rock historian Victor Bockris, where both Blondie’s Blondie explore both the band with a massive cultural impact as a band to survive on the tough streets of Naika.

Blondie: Odds’ creative team includes Montos, Jimmy Palmiotti, Amanda Connor, Church Chuckley, Paul Mount, Colleen Koran, Wendy Wright Williams, JH Williams III, Brian Ewing, John Pearson, Dan Lerner, Cassie, Sebastian Martin Rhine Rhine Matthew Matthew Matthew Matthew Matthew Matthew Mataweber, Michael Allred, Howard A. Rodman, Manuela Pertega, DC Alonso, Jan Mainhouse, Corey “Ray” Lewis, Jesse Phillips, Emily Pearson, Tess Fowler, Jazzlyn Stone, Liana Cangas, Sean Pryor, Dan Whitehead, Brennan Wager, Musel, Musel, Musel K. Snyder III, David Barnett, Rodrigo Reyes, Jayjay Jackson, Richard Kadrey, Marco Pugini, John McCrea.
