Marvel Comics has released an Echo: The Seeker of Truth, a special new Marvel voice starring Indigenous heroines, will be releasing on November 5th in time for Native American Heritage Month. Written by Taboo and B. Earl (2023 Daredevil & Echo and Jim Terry’s Art and Art (Kahhori: Reshaper of Los of Losa hissa to maya to aa) where he says, “The former Avenger confronts amazing secrets about her legacy and unleashes a mysterious new gift that will forever redefine Marvel’s adventures in the universe.”

Echo’s new age! When her cousin goes missing in Los Angeles, Echo goes to Angel City and discovers what happened to her. But what she discovers is a series of missing failures, centered around a mysterious wellness cult called Wisteria Meadows. As Echo delves deep into the mystery, she discovers the truth about herself, which she never imagined. But who is the faceless puppet masters behind the cult, and what are their ominous plans?

The Taboo states: “Being able to write a second echo story feels like a superpower or strength. As a proud Native American/Mexican storyteller, I have a platform to co-write about superheroes that resonate within the Marvel universe. Bridge to the community, empowerment, and authentic representation.”

B. Earl said, “As a storyteller who loves to marry myths with pop culture, it’s exciting to be able to revisit Echo with a story that brings another dimension to her abilities. Hollywood… the dream that ultimately led me on this incredible Marvel journey with the taboos we’ve been going on for the past few years.”

The comic features a variation of Carmen Carnero and Maria Wolf, the main cover by Echo co-creator David Mac. It will arrive almost two years after the release of the Disney+ Echo series. This gives Mayan MCU variant a different power than her comic counterparts (traditionally capable of mimicking or “echoing” others’ abilities), but it remains whether she is the “new gift” she receives here. In the meantime, Taboo and B. Earl’s next Marvel project, the Ultimate Hawkeye Oneshot, will be released on September 24th.
