Harley and Ivy: Life and Crimes is a brand new series from DC Comics, focusing on beloved Batman antagonists Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. The two have become one of DC Comics’ most popular pairings, including adaptations such as the 2019 Harley Quinn Animation series. Created in 1966 by Robert Canifer, Sheldon Moldoff and Carmine Infantino, Poison Ivy became one of the most popular antagonists in all of Batman’s gallery. The two characters have been intertwined since the 90s, co-leading various comics together, eventually becoming a couple.
Therefore, in response to demand, DC is happy to present a completely entirely new series about Harley and Ivy’s romantic relationship. Eisner Award-winning artist and writer Erica Henderson (behind the much-loved Harley Quinn Year 2024) weaves a standard story about how Ivy and Harley became enemies, friends and lovers. From their first kiss to their first hug, their first fight, the series will appeal to fans of the popular pairing, not just fans of Henderson’s work, both in Harley and DC comics in general.

Henderson had told Popverse about the book.
As a child in the 90s, I grew up in the Batman: Animated Series. Honestly, I can say I’ve been invested in Harley and Ivy as a couple since I was 10 years old. As this is a prequel, everyone knows where this story will bring spoiler alerts in the previous two sentences, but they are dating, but the fun is coming into detail. Personally, they’re not an obvious match, but I’m excited to explore why they’re going well together.
Additionally, Henderson revealed in Bluesky that six issues are currently listed, but have already been plotted up to 12. Once released on November 5th, 2025, a preview of the series can be seen below and can now be pre-ordered from all local comic shops.
