Webtoon Entertainment is working with Disney to bring some of the world’s most beloved cartoons to the popular vertical scrolling platform. The partnership will feature around 100 titles from Disney, Marvel, 20th Century Studios and Star Wars, all reformatted for a mobile-friendly reading experience on the webtoon. These titles will be available worldwide in special sections of the English app, allowing fans to enjoy iconic stories anywhere.
This is not the first collaboration with comic publishers or Webtoon. From DC Comics to Dark Horse, the WebComics portal has grown exponentially, with Marvel being added to the mix.
Collaboration goes beyond reformatting classics. It also works with an original web comic series based on Disney, Marvel, 20th century studios and Star Wars properties. These new stories offer fresh adventures for fan favorite characters, from superhero sagas to intergalactic epics tailored to mobile readings.
Upon release, readers can dive into free episodes of series like Amazing Spider-Man (2022 – Present), Avengers (2012), Star Wars (2015), Alien (2021) and Disney. Additional episodes can be unlocked using Webtoon coins.
“This is just the beginning,” said Yongsu Kim, Chief Strategy Officer and Officer of Global Webtoon. “We are introducing legendary storytelling to a new generation of mobile native comic fans, giving longtime readers a fresh way to enjoy their favorite series.”
Daniel Fink, SVP of Disney Consumer Products and Head of Digital Innovation, said, “In partnership with Webtoon, we can expand our space on top-tier digital platforms, encouraging new fans to experience Disney storytelling in an exciting and lasting way while reaching a dedicated global audience.”
Fans can download the Webtoon app and follow and update Webtoon on X and Instagram.
