A thrilling new trailer for Superman’s Adventures: Book of El dropped, teasing a sweeping, millennium quest that author Philip Kennedy Johnson describes as “the most epic thing I’ve ever written.”
Merging the scope of Superman’s mythology with Samurai Jack’s visual energy, the series follows Steele on a hopeless mission to reunite with his family. The story unfolds in a harsh future where Elle’s symbolic house is feared and spurted, heroes almost extinct, and the universe is trapped in a war with the Promethean giants and ancient gods.
Johnson revealed that Book of El is the culmination of DC’s entire tenure, linking threads from works in Superman, Action Comics, Warworld Saga, The Dawn of DC, as well as Green Lantern, Batman and Robin. “It all comes together, it clashes, and we close with this book,” he said.
The series features art and letters from Scott Godolski, Alex Mlemiss and Dave Sharp, and promises impressive visuals to match the storytelling of the High Stakes. Check out the trailer below!
Superman’s Adventures: Book of El #1 hits the shelves on September 3rd, with the final order cutoff coming up this Monday.
