Earlier this year, 10 Speed published a non-fiction graphic novel, “The Short History of a Long War: The Battle against Russian Rule in Ukraine.” Today, this beat can reveal the unforgettable American version of the book by Ukrainian artists Ilia Vus and Ivan Kipivida.
The long short history of the war was written by Ukrainian scholar, activist and award-winning journalist Mariam Nayem. In addition to examining the 2014 Russian-Crane war that led to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, this is just a recent demonstration of Russian Ukraine’s oppression – Nayem examines how Russia and the Soviet government were exposed to multi-system jerothierides via multiple generations.
Historical events featured in the book include Holomodore hunger in the 1930s and “optional” in Ukraine in the 1860s.
According to the book’s official summary, “Along with an account of the grasp of the historical foundations of the modern Ukrainian state, as we know today, Nayem seamlessly incorporates the current narrative of the tragic reality of war and the length that citizens must go to survive.” The short history is called “ode ode to moments of resistance and resilience from the Ukrainian people facing the oppressive and colonial history of Russia.”
