Rick and Morty vs. The Universe, like any major comic book event, features multiple tie-ins that support the main story. The first of these tie-ins is Rick and Morty vs. Universe: #1 of Summer Love. This focuses on the summer trying to “go out” Rick by giving him the most epic bachelor party in the Parmesan universe. This is the story of Rick and Morty, so things go downhill quickly.
The fun of reading Rick and Morty vs. The Universe: Summer of Love #1 is to see who answers the Summer Summons for the Bachelorette Party. It gives writers Daniel Kibblesmith and Jody Hauser the opportunity to reach beyond the history of Rick and Morty for a unique selection of guest stars. We see Morty’s ex and Captain Planet Pastish Planetina. Arthecia, the cat girl from the infamous “Who’s Purge Now?” episode. And even Dr. Wong, Smith’s family therapist.
This leads to #1 of Rick and Morty vs. Universe: Summer Love, providing an incredible balance of humor and mind. I often feel that balance is the best Rick and Morty and Morty episodes of strength, and Kibblesmith and Hauser seem to agree with that line of thought. The escalating behavior of the summer is due to Rick more or less banning her from a bachelor’s degree with space (where readers can catch up with Rick and Morty vs Universe #1), which leads to what is perhaps the most unorthodox therapy session. Because it is literally the existence is the actual character in this comic.

Bringing Rick and Morty vs. Universe: Summer Love One’s Life is Phil Murphy. The pencil matches the mixed animation of Rick and Morty and T and T. And the body literally explodes into bloody pulp.
The outstanding image of Summer of Love #1 features a game board-like setup. Murphy draws summer, depicting a small-style friend running across that board. Not only is this an eye-catching image thanks to Meg Casey’s vibrant colors, but there are also some outstanding images, including a variety of alien bars with witty names and squares with outrageous writing that only Rick and Morty comics can escape.
Rick and Morty vs. The Universe: Summer of Love #1 offers a mix of chewing comedy and deep moments so that only the Rick and Morty story can do. Fans can read it on their own, but when you read Rick and Morty vs. Universe #1, it works much better (especially after that comic indirectly set this up). It will also appear in the rest of the upcoming Rick and Morty vs. Universe one-shot.
