Image Comics has announced that the full run of Friday, a mystery horror comic rated by Ed Brubaker, Marcos Martín and Muntsa Vicente, will be collected in a deluxe hardcover edition this November. Originally released through Panel Syndicate, the 9th issue series blends supernatural horror and adult drama with hard-boiled mystery, winning both Eisner and Harvey awards.
Friday’s Deluxe Edition hardcover brings together all nine issues from the series and behind the scenes extras to become the definitive version of the story. Fans are looking forward to the genre mashup that blends the moody vibe of Dacielle Hammett, the nostalgic teen vibe of John Hughes’ films, and the genre mashup I know that I know that I know that I used last summer with a Lovecraftian twist.
At the heart of the story is Fitzhugh on Friday. Fitzhugh, a once-famous teenage detective, returns home from college and is brought back to an old mystery along with his former partner, Lancelot Jones. But what begins as a nostalgic reunion is quickly unleashed by the darkness lurking beneath the surface of their quiet New England town.
Friday is an unforgettable emotional tale about friendships, growing apart, hidden in places we think we know best.
Friday’s Deluxe Edition (ISBN: 978-1534331600, Month Code: 0725IM453) arrives at the comic shop on Wednesday, November 12th and will be hit with bookstores such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Waterstones on Tuesday, November 25th.
