After teasing at San Diego Comic-Con last week, Marvel Comics announced the end of 2099, a five-shot series by author Steve Orlando and artist Ibrain Roberson. Ostensibly depicting the final battle in the universe in Marvel 2099, the series features a diverse war between Mephisto and Abyssus (the fusion of Knur and Galactus) unfolding on another planet. I just want to survive.

Orlando said, “Every time the door to 2099 begins, it’s not just an honor – it’s an adventure! This is all adventure. All existing 2099 timelines are integrated into one, true, space-2099, the Black Bird Feathers will not come for dinner! To the War of the Champions – plucked out of the multiverse in the greatest battle of Abyssus of 2099!”
He continues, “It was the best challenge to bring together the team from all the reality of all Marvel’s banquets, not just 2099. Each warrior in the multiverse reflects the warriors of 2099. This is a unique spider, but Spider-Man 3099 truly introduces a new generation of heroism.
Marvel 2099 debuted in September 1992 with Spider-Man 2099 #1 (by Rick Leonardi, the late Peter David and Al Williamson), and the current title execution began with Spider-Man 2099: Exodus in 2099 and 2022 with Orlando and several artists. Joe Weems, and Livesay), and most recently, in 2020 as a one-shot line.
