Dark Horse Manga continues to release the acclaimed English language release of cartoon master Gou Tanabe’s HP Lovecraft Adaptations, just in time for Halloween. This latest volume has been adapted to English by Zack Davisson (read an interview with him). It is best known for translating the history of Shausa to beat Eisner: Migeru shigeru by higeru by histor of Japan. The lettering was by Eisner nominated Steve Duttolo.
At The Shadow Out Out Office, we follow Nathaniel Wingate Peaslee, a professor at Miskatanic University. His life disintegrates mid-lecture after witnessing surreal alien vision in 1908. When he regains consciousness, something about him is… not. He begins to speak in strange ways, and over time he adopts far away places and ancient knowledge. His transformation unleashes everyone around him, from his colleagues to his own family.
Five years later, the real Peasley resurfaced. His quest to understand what happened sends him with a globe-facing investigation into forgotten civilization.
The After-Hours Shadow arrives at the bookstore on October 28, 2025 in a 370-page Tankobon-sized paperback (5.125″ x 7.25″) for $21.99 for $21.99 and hits the bookstore on October 29. For more information and stores near you, visit Comic Shop Locator or BookShop.org.
