Just before San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Oni Press and Glitch Productions announced a brand new publishing partnership to bring the hit animated series Murder Drones to the world of comics and graphic novels. Already a viral sensation with over 300 million views and a passionate global fanbase, the dark comedy sci-fi series has got its first official comic book adaptation.
The partnership begins with a graphic novel that tells the first season of the murderous drone. This follows a group of robotic workers trying to survive obsolescence in frozen apocalyptic exoplanets, hunted by the murderer’s “disassembled drones” and mystical virus known as the absolute solvers. The graphic novel is written by Night and Marvel United author Wyatt Kennedy and drawn by Joe Mijong (Eve, Dark Crystal), with more murderous drone comics to follow.
ONI Press debuted the project via Kickstarter on September 8, 2025, and will be offering a collectable deluxe edition along with a standard preorder version as part of the ONI Premium Direct Line. A traditional serial release to the comic shop is scheduled for February 2026.
Originally created by Liam Vickers and produced by Glitch co-founders Kevin and Luke Lerdwichagul, Murder Drones premiered in 2021, quickly became a breakout hit, won the Webby Awards, and recently premiered on Prime Video. It also locks up a growing product line with hot topics and expands the series’ reach to North American retailers.
“Murder drones are perfect for what we do at ONI,” said Hunter Golinson, ONI press president and publisher. “It’s a bold, weird, smart, and already more hungry fans. We’re excited to work with creators like Glitch and Joe Mission to bring this world to life in the comics.”
Fans participating in Comic-Con International 2025 can stop by Glitch Productions (Booth #301) and Oni Press (Booth #1829) for early previews, exclusive products and giveaways related to upcoming releases.
