Needless to say, DC’s Absolute Universe has been a clear success since it was launched over a year ago. To celebrate the launch of the first anniversary of the Absolute Universe this October, DC has announced two oversized absolute Universe one-shot specials and five pivotal new absolute Universe issues.

The first is Absolute Evil #1 written by Al Ewing, with Giuseppe Kamunkori and Stefanonesi with art and main covers. Variant covers are provided by Fabrizio de Tommaso, Gerald Parel, Dustin Nguyen, and Riley Rossmo, and also have a foil variant cover shown by Rossmo. On October 1st, this one-shot is about a villain in his second year, when the publisher teases big things.

In absolute evil, Ra’s Al Ghul, Veronica Cale, Hector Hammond, Elenore Thawne, and the mysterious Joker no longer work in cross poses. Together, they line up, unite, and dangerous. But insidious betrayal from within threatens to unravel everything they have built up.

This one-shot special issue features the introduction of two main absolute characters rather than one that will change courses in Absolute Universe in Year 2, which is inevitable for all fans of this Red Hot publishing line.

Next is Absolute Batman 2025 Year #1. Available on October 29th, this one-shot features early stories of Absolute Batman written and drawn by famous creators including Daniel Warren Johnson in the first post-energy universe project, James Harlen and Meredith McClallen. This issue has the main cover of Daniel Warren Johnson and variant covers by Nick Dragotta, James Harren and Meredith McClarren (1:25).

How did Bruce win his Batmobile? What happened when the Black Mask crew got entangled in the bat during the first few days? DC’s Absolute Batman 2025 Year offers insight into raw formative disruptions from the earliest days of Absolute Batman.

In the main ongoing absolute universe title, Absorted Batman #13 will be released on October 8th. The issue also features variant covers by Stanley “Artgerm” Lau, Jenny Frison, Adam Hughes and Brian Bolland, including the foil “Artgerm” variant and ratio variant by David Nakayama (1:25) and Nick Dragotta (1:50). Not only does Batman’s showdown with Bane come to mind, but the absolute Catwoman makes the scene.

Batman’s ultimate conflict with Bane threatens to lock him in ARK-M forever. In the aftermath, a new person steps into Gotham’s stage. Ah…and the absolute Catwoman makes his debut on this pivotal issue!
